Founded in Villeret in 1852, the brand quickly became one of Switzerland's leading manufacturers by producing its own patented movements, earning a reputation for precision and reliability. Even today, it is rare for a company to manufacture movements entirely in-house, including ébauches. The brand was best known for its affordable timepieces for men and women, but also enjoyed high prestige thanks to its oservatory award for chronometers. It succeeded in combining robust construction with Swiss elegance. No wonder the company supplied watches during the Second World War. Despite, or perhaps because of, several changes of ownership, the brand continued to flourish internationally and celebrated its centenary in 1952 under the motto ‘100 years of precision’. Although production ceased in the 1960s, the brand's heritage lives on in vintage watches. Like no other brand, they embody the insignia of genuine Swiss craftsmanship.
